We welcome visiting professor Thomas H Kolbe at TU Delft
Thomas H Kolbe is professor of Geoinformatics at TU Munich in the fields of 3D Geo-informatie, 3D-modelling and Spatial Data Infrastructures and initiator of the CityGML standard. His research focusses on spatial, temporal and semantic modeling, storage, analysis and visualization of the environment. Key areas are virtual 3D city and landscape models, city system modeling, smart cities, 3D geodatabases, 3D geoinformation systems, GIS & simulations and indoor navigation.
Prof. Kolbe regularly visits Geomatics at TU Delft this academica year and contributes to the two core chairs: GIS Technology (Prof. Peter van Oosterom) and 3D-Geo-information (Prof. Jantien Stoter). From March 13 t/m 24 he will be visiting TU Delft regarding the OGC meetings, education (GEO1004 3D modelling and GEO1008 Geodatasets) and workshops in Amsterdam (AMS) en Rotterdam/The Hague (dienst Stedenbouw + Verkeer and Dienst Stedelijke Ontwikkelingen). The group of Geoinformatics from TUM will visit TU Delft from March 21 until March 24. The visit is concluded with a 2-day PhD seminar.
