Measuring Behavior 2016

Measuring Behavior is the premier interdisciplinary event for scientists and practitioners concerned with the study of human or animal behavior. This dynamic community and its biennial conference focuses on methods, techniques, and tools in behavioral research in the widest sense.

Measuring Behavior 2016 is organized by Dublin City University and will be held in Dublin, Ireland on May 25-27, 2016.

The Scientific Program Committee now invites you to submit your paper or abstract.

Formats

Measuring Behavior 2016 offers a variety of formats for presenting your contribution:

  • Oral presentations in main sessions.
  • Oral presentations in specialized symposia (standard scientific presentations) or workshops (interactive discussions).
  • Posters with associated abstracts.
  • Tutorial sessions teaching about established tools and methods.
  • Demonstration Showcase with associated abstracts, for new inventions, prototypes, and products.

There will be prizes for best student presentation and poster, and best demonstration.

Submission

We are seeking high-quality and original submissions, posters and demos, which will be reviewed by experts on the basis of the methodology, originality of the work, writing quality and the overall contribution to the field of measuring behavior.

All submissions must be written in English following the style guide for Measuring Behavior 2016 publications.

All papers will be refereed through double-blind peer review and the proceedings will be distributed to all delegates at the conference.

Topics

Measuring Behavior is open for presentations on a very broad range of topics related to measuring animal and human behavior, so long as there is a focus on methodology. The topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Behavioral neuroscience
  • Human factors
  • Applied behavioral studies
  • Species-specific studies
  • New technologies for measuring behavior
  • Psychology
  • Analytical methods

Publications

The proceedings will be published by Dublin City University and will be made available online and in physical format. In addition, top-papers will be selected for special issues of appropriate international high-impact journals including the Journal of Neuroscience Methods.

Conference location

The conference will take place in Dublin, May 25-27, 2016. The venue is the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in the city centre, a well-equipped and modern conference facility in the city center, close to a large number of hotels in all price ranges.

The welcome reception will take place in the world-famous Guinness Storehouse, which will be a private opening for the Measuring Behavior 2016 attendees.
